What is Convention?
A DeMolay Convention is a once a year event where all the DeMolays from a Jurisdiction come together to meet and have fun. This is where new state officers are elected, a state sweetheart is selected and crowned, business is conducted and awards, plaques and certificates are presented. PA DeMolay Convention 2010 is more DeMolay Fun and Fellowship than ever before - and every DeMolay and Advisor should attend!

What is Convention Like?
Convention is like nothing else! Nothing! From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave, there is an endless world of opportunity for fun! At Convention 2010 you will also enjoy lots of great food; hot breakfast on Saturday; a bountiful breakfast buffet on Sunday; lots of opportunity to have fun with your DeMolay friends; and on Sunday morning the new slate of state officers - whom you elect - will be formally installed.

Who Should Attend?
You, that's who! Everybody is invited to Convention 2010! From the most junior DeMolay member to the wise, old Advisor (this is based on the assumption that all old Advisors are wise). Parents and Families are encouraged to attend, too. Registration is also open to female guests from the Job's Daughters and the Rainbow Girls, however, proper chaperones must register and participate; and there's a special package for those who would like to just attend the honors luncheon & business session and/or the Sunday morning breakfast buffet.

What Should I Bring?
Sufficient clothing for the three-days of fun! Jeans and t-shirts are okay for some activities. Khaki's and collared shirt would be good to have along. Shorts, beachwear and sunscreen for the pool and Kennywood. Coat and tie will be required for the Induction Ceremonies, Honors Luncheon, and business session. Our female registrants will want to bring a nice dress, skirt or pantsuits for the Honors Luncheon and business session. Executive Officer's Leadership Team, business suit. Leave the white dinner jacket and tuxedos at home! Please see the Dress Code sheet for more details!

Changes to Convention 2010
Each year the Convention Staff tries to improve the program, and make it more fun and attractive to both members and advisors (but primarily members!) In 2010 we will be trying a three day Convention format. This means that most activities will not start until Friday evening, and Convention will be wrapped up by Sunday morning. Please review the schedule carefully so that you understand the new time frames and activities. Please take note: Transportation to and from Fun-Fore-All will NOT be provided. Chapters must arrange their own transportation for this activity on Friday evening!
Due to changes in the By-Laws for Pennsylvania DeMolay this will be the second Convention at which all Active DeMolays who are Past Master Councilors may vote for Elected State Office without being assigned as a delegate. To be able to vote a member must be registered and have paid for at least one Convention 2010 package. A member cannot attend for the purposes of voting alone.

Anything Else?
You will also want to bring a little bit of spending money for any purchases you may wish to make at the DeMolay Store; and for Kennywood, Fun-Fore-All, and Paintball (if you choose to go.)
