Octoraro Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, held a spaghetti dinner at the Oxford Masonic Lodge, Oxford, PA, on January 22, 2010. For just $8, you could eat delicious spaghetti with meatballs dinner, roll & butter, salad, coffee, tea, or water, and a dessert. They had a variety of scrumptious desserts, mostly homemade by the women of Easter Star. They varied from cakes and cupcakes to brownies and cookies. Additional OES ladies staffed the kitchen to cook the spaghetti and meatballs. In the other corner of the small kitchen, more women cleaned the silverware and all the pots and pans. A few men participated, either in the dining area, or in the kitchen. The dinner was offered from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, but was sold-out by 6:00 pm and they had to take the sign down early. Pictured above were the volunteers who helped at the spaghetti dinner. Two young men from the Freedom Chapter were on hand to help clean and set tables, get refills for attendees, and take out the trash. All had enough! Thank you ladies for a fabulous dinner. |
