PA DeMolay News - FBC Visits Williamson-Corinthian Lodge No. 368

Outstanding!

That's the only word that comes to mind after watching the Friendship-Bray Chapter in action at their visit to Williamson-Corinthian Lodge No. 368 in Philadelphia.

The members enjoyed a dinner with the Lodge consisting of fried chicken, baked fish, mac and cheese, green beans and salad. FBC Member Zach's comment was amusing; "Now THIS is good food!" (Glad you enjoyed, Zach!)

Then the Chapter went on a little tour of the Temple, checking out the beauty and different architecture of all of the Lodge rooms. FBC got to perform in Egyptian Hall , the home Lodge room of Williamson-n-Corinthian Lodge.

The Master Councilor, Bro. Zach Cohen was introduced, and he proceeded to introduce the rest of the Chapter members. After discussing briefly what DeMolay is all about these days, Zach called on Bro. Blake Heckler, Marshal, who gave the audience a solid performance of the Shield Talk. For a young man who two months ago said could never memorize such a "big" ritual part and simply does not do public speaking, he could have fooled everyone!

Senior Councilor Bro. Josh Shapey then treated the crowd to his rendition of the Ceremony of Light, and what a job it was! Every word had emotion and meaning as Josh put them all together with voice inflection and hand gestures. Instead of altar candles, he used "human candles" made up of other FBC guys. Each held a small light -- and turned them on and off as Josh progressed through the ceremony.

Wrapping up the presentation, Bros. Zach Cohen, Danny Perlman and Brian Benin led the Q&A session with the Lodge, as they had many questions. All did a nice job fielding and answering the questions.

The Lodge's Worshipful Master; Mr. Charles Kosola, presented the Chapter with several donations to assist with sending guys to Key Man, Convention and Life Skills, and to defer the cost of new Chapter polo shirts, rent expenses, sponsoring an ad in the PA DeMolay Yearbook, and more. The Master and Wardens greeted the line up of FBC members and advisors at the altar and were presented with small tokens of appreciation.

Awesome job by everyone!! Thank you also to "Dad" Bob Baker and "Mom" Robin Dinerstein for accompanying and driving the members.
