It is customary for Masonic Lodges in Pennsylvania to close down for the summer months, and take a break from the normal grind of business meetings and degree conferrals. This wasn't the case, however, in Steelton-Swatara Lodge No. 775, located in Steelton, PA, as they conferred the degree of Master Mason on W. Thomas Moyer, State Master Councilor of PA DeMolay, on July 28, 2010.
The degree was conferred by "Dad" Thomas R. Labagh, Executive Officer of PA DeMolay, who was assisted by a team of Senior DeMolays, Active DeMolays, and Advisors. The conferral was well attended, and the sidelines were full of well wishers, which included "Dad" Jay W. Smith, Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, "Dad" Scott T. Matincheck, District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd Masonic District, and "Dad" Samuel C. Williamson, Right Worshipful Past Grand Master. Also on hand were two Past State Master Councilors, Bro. Jason Stains, of Waynesboro, and Bro. Jeff Bortz, of Birdsboro.
It was a fantastic evening of degree work and fellowship, and PA DeMolay would like to extend our hearty congratulations to Bro. Moyer and his family. Welcome to the fraternity! |
