It was a good day for FBC! For their years of service and dedication to the Order of DeMolay, more specifically to Friendship-Bray Chapter; two brothers (biological as well as fraternal) were elevated to the rank, insignia, and degree of a Chevalier.
Alexi and Julien joined DeMolay about five years ago, and from that time up until about a year ago when they started college, they held the Chapter together. They kept things moving, observing all Obligatory Days, performing the community and Masonic service, competing on the sports fields, holding fund raisers and running public awareness campaigns, assisting at retirement communities -- they did it all. Julien honorably served as Master Councilor in 2007. Alexi served in a variety of offices within the Chapter. Each of them have qualified for the Honor Roll Challenge for the past five years for outstanding scholastic achievement. It was for these reasons that the Friendship-Bray Advisory Council made the decision to nominate them for such a distinction.
The Chevalier Degree Team consisted of Bros. Jeff Bortz, PSMC, as Grand Commander, Billy Wichterman, Commander in the West, Steve Nolan, Commander in the South. JT Tetlow, Grand Chaplain, and Kris Walkling, Grand Marshal.
Alexi and Julien will be heading back to college in the next few days, and we can't think of a better sendoff. We thank each of them for their years of service, dedication and brotherhood to the Order of DeMolay.
